Q: When is the race?

A: June 16th, 2018

Q: Where is the race?

A: The start/finish, parking, packet pick up…. is at the Big M Ski Area. (plug into gps: 4040 Udell Hills Road Manistee, MI 49660)

Q: What is the course direction for the 2018 race?

A:  Clockwise

Q: Is there a rider cap?

A: Yes, 435 racers total ( This race usually sells out so don’t wait to register)

Q: Is camping allowed in the Big M / race venue?

A: Yes, tent camping is allowed anywhere inside the national forest including the first overflow lot. NO Camping is allowed in the paved parking lot.

Q: Where can I park my RV?

A: NEW! RV’s will only be allowed to overnight park in the second overflow parking lot. Look for the signs and entrance to the North of the main Big M entrance.

Q: Can I set up a team support tent?

A: Yes, we recommend it, anytime starting Friday you can set up your support tent in the finish line / infield area and along the race course finish line, behind the course marking tape. Space is on a first come first serve basis.

Q: How do I register?

A: Registration will open January 7th, 2018 Noon est. at Bikereg. Sorry no mail in registrations

Q: When is Packet Pick Up?

A: Friday from 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Saturday from 5:30a.m.-7:00 a.m. at the Big M Ski Lodge

Q: Is there a time cut off?

A: Yes! Racers will not be allowed to start their third lap after 3:00 pm

Q: Can I have someone pick up my packet for me?

A: Yes but they will have to show us an ID, then print and sign a document that they took it for you

Q: How is the race timed and scored?

A: Chronotrack Timing by Newton Timing Company. Rigid handlebar number plates with timing chips will be used for the best timing available. Do not remove the timing chip off of the number plate! Do not put the number plate anywhere but on the handle bar or your time will not be recorded! Do not use zip ties to hold your number plate, they will tear the plate. Please use the twist ties provided. 

Q: When does the race start and what are the wave start times?

A: The race starts at 7:00 a.m. with three waves based on your selection at registration. The start line is 2 miles outside of the park entrance (North) up Udell Hills rd. Look for the traffic cone near the yellow house.

Q: What food is available at the aid station?

A: The Aid Stations will be stocked with water, Hammer Heed, fruit, cookies, candy, and P&J

Q: How do I transfer to a different race category?

A: You can change to a different race category ( ie; fat bike, single speed…) prior to 11:45 p.m.  June 6. Login into your Bike Reg account to make any changes including category and wave selection.

Q: What is the refund policy?

A: No refund of any kind will be allowed although you can transfer your entry for $15 to another rider via Bike Reg prior to 11:45 p.m.  June 8 

Q: I would like to transfer my entry to someone else, how do I do that?

A: The original registered racer finds someone to purchase their registration.  The two parties determine the price of the transfered registration and make payment arrangements on your own.  The original registered racer goes into their Bikereg race entry and selects “transfer your entry” and enter the email of the person transfering in. The new racer will accept the registration, pay the $15 transfer fee and select their racing category. . The deadline for transfers is  June 6, 2018 at 11:45 pm est.

A: Over $7000 in awards cash and prizes

Men Open 1st Place – $650.00 plus Axe Trophy, and a free entry to the following year
Men Open 2nd Place – $450.00 plus medal
Men Open 3rd Place – $250.00 plus medal
Men Open 4th Place – $150.00 plus medal
Men Open 5th-10th Place – prizes plus medals
All finishers – Lumberjack 100 MEDAL

Women Open 1st Place – $650.00 plus Axe Trophy, and a free entry to the following year
